Asana AI agents that keep projects current
Brainwrite connects Asana to your AI agents so they can create tasks, comment on them, and draft project status updates from what actually moved this week. A bot reads a project's sections, finds overdue or unassigned work, and writes it up in plain language. You decide which bots get Asana tools and exactly which of those tools each bot may call.
Brainwrite · AsanaRead the Website Relaunch project in Asana, list every task that is overdue or has no assignee, and draft this week's status update. Show me the draft before you post anything.

Jobs
Jobs your team does with Asana.
Meeting notes into tasks
Paste notes into a thread. A bot pulls out each action item and creates the Asana task with an owner and due date, then lists what it created.
Friday status update
A bot reads completed, overdue, and blocked tasks in each project and drafts the status update with real task names instead of a vague summary.
Overdue and unassigned sweep
A routine lists tasks past their due date or with no assignee, groups them by project, and posts the list to one thread for you to act on.
Set up
How to connect Asana.
- 01
Open Connected apps
In Brainwrite, choose Connected apps in the sidebar. The official app sets up the connection service for you; there's no key to paste.
- 02
Search for Asana
Find Asana and choose Connect. You can add more than one account later and label each, such as work or a client.
- 03
Sign in in your browser
Finish Asana's own sign-in in your normal browser. The access token stays with the connection service and never enters a bot's prompt.
- 04
Choose which bots get it
In each bot's settings, give it all tools, an exact list, or none. Imported bots start with none, so nothing reaches your account by surprise.

FAQ
Brainwrite and Asana: questions
How do I connect Asana to Brainwrite?
Open Connected apps in the sidebar, search for Asana, and choose Connect. Asana's authorization page opens in your normal browser; approve access and return to the app. The OAuth token stays with Composio, the service Brainwrite uses for connected apps, and is never written into a bot's prompt. You can add a second labelled account, such as a client's workspace.
Can I stop a bot from deleting Asana tasks or projects?
Yes. In the bot's settings under Connected apps, give it all Asana tools, an exact list, or none. A reporting bot might get only search, read, and comment tools, with delete and project tools left off. A tool the bot isn't granted is never offered to its model, and every allow or deny is written to the decision log.
Can a bot send me an Asana summary every Monday morning?
Yes. Give a bot with Asana tools a routine that runs on Mondays. Each run starts fresh, reads the projects you named, and posts the summary to one dedicated thread. Local routines need the Brainwrite app running on your Mac; with Brainwrite Cloud they run around the clock.
