Linear AI agents for triage and cycle reviews
Brainwrite connects Linear to your AI agents so they can file issues, search for duplicates, update state and labels, and draft project updates. A bot turns a messy bug report into an issue with the right team, priority, and labels, or reads the current cycle and tells you what will carry over. You choose which Linear tools each bot can use.
Brainwrite · LinearSearch Linear for issues about checkout timeouts. If one exists, add this customer's report as a comment. If not, create a new issue for the Payments team with priority High.
You connect Linear once. Your Chief of Staff puts a bot on it.

Jobs
Jobs your team does with Linear.
Bug report to clean issue
Forward a customer report. A bot searches Linear for an existing issue first, then either comments on it or files a new one with steps to reproduce.
Cycle review
Before planning, a bot reads the active cycle, lists unfinished issues, and flags the ones that have slipped more than one cycle.
Project update draft
A bot reads a project's closed and open issues since the last update and drafts the next project update for the lead to edit.
Set up
How to connect Linear.
- 01
Open Connected apps
In Brainwrite, choose Connected apps in the sidebar. The official app sets up the connection service for you; there's no key to paste.
- 02
Search for Linear
Find Linear and choose Connect. You can add more than one account later and label each, such as work or a client.
- 03
Sign in in your browser
Finish Linear's own sign-in in your normal browser. The access token stays with the connection service and never enters a bot's prompt.
- 04
Choose which bots get it
In each bot's settings, give it all tools, an exact list, or none. Imported bots start with none, so nothing reaches your account by surprise.

FAQ
Brainwrite and Linear: questions
How do I connect Linear to Brainwrite?
Open Connected apps, search for Linear, and choose Connect. Linear's authorization opens in your browser; pick the workspace and approve. Back in Brainwrite, ask any bot that has Linear tools to list your teams to confirm it works. Tokens stay with Composio and never appear in prompts.
How do I keep a bot from closing or deleting Linear issues?
Open the bot's settings, find Linear under Connected apps, and switch from all tools to an exact list. Include search, create, and comment, and leave out delete, archive, and update if the bot should only file issues. Until you set a grant, a bot keeps every tool on apps it can see; imported bots start with none.
What is the Run Query or Mutation tool in the Linear connector?
It sends any GraphQL query or mutation to Linear's API. It is useful for reports the standard tools don't cover, but a mutation can change data in ways the narrower tools can't. Keep it out of a bot's exact list unless that bot needs it, and review its calls in the Inspector.
