This page explains what Brainwrite collects, why, and what it never receives. It covers the Brainwrite desktop app, the account and payment services behind it, and this website.

The desktop app is local-first
Your bots, chats, memory, and files stay on your computer. Brainwrite does not receive them. The app has no analytics and no tracking.
Your Brainwrite account
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address, through accounts.brainwrite.in. To run your account we store your email address, an account ID, and your sign-in session. Sign-in codes are sent to you by email.
Payments and license keys
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach Brainwrite. We store your email address and your Stripe customer and subscription IDs and, for the organisation plan, your organisation’s name. License keys are sent to you by email.
AI providers
Brainwrite uses your own AI provider accounts, API keys, and command-line tools. Your prompts go directly from your computer to those providers, under their terms and privacy policies — not through Brainwrite.
Connected apps
Connected apps such as Gmail or Slack work through Composio, via composio.brainwrite.in. For this, Brainwrite stores an installation token for your copy of the app — only as a hash, never the token itself. The connections to your apps are made with Composio, under Composio’s terms.
Phone pairing
Pairing the phone companion with your computer may use a secure tunnel hostname that Brainwrite manages and ties to your account.
This website
The contact form and the sponsor form collect what you type into them. Both are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, and Google’s privacy policy applies to it. Sponsor checkout is handled by Stripe. The website’s own code sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
Emails we send
Transactional emails, such as sign-in codes and license keys, are sent through Cloudflare.
