Know when a competitor changes something that matters
To monitor competitors with AI agents, install the Watch Competitor Moves team in Brainwrite and give it a list of public pages to track. Every Monday, Watcher records material changes with dates and evidence. Every Friday, Prism turns the week's changes into one brief that recommends watch, investigate, respond, or ignore for each.

Watch the pricing pages and homepages of these five competitors every Monday. Only tell me when something material changed, and whether we should respond.

- Material change: Quillpoint's pricing page now lists a Team plan at a new price point (observed Monday, confidence high)
- Before-and-after evidence saved with source URL and observation date
- Possible explanations: new packaging, or a regional pricing test
- Recommendation: investigate; revisit if the change is still live next Monday
DoneSaved as a routine: Mondays at 8:30, with a Friday synthesis at 16:00. It starts paused until you turn it on.

The job
Doing it yourself, and handing it off.
Doing it yourself
Someone notices a competitor changed their pricing page. Was it this week or last month? What did it say before? Nobody took a screenshot. Tracking by hand means opening the same pricing, homepage, and changelog pages every week, comparing them with memory, and guessing whether a reworded headline is a new strategy or a copy tweak. The useful part, deciding whether to respond, rarely happens because the evidence is so thin.
What the team does
- Check approved public pages for pricing, packaging, positioning, and product changes
- Keep a dated evidence trail with source URLs
- Separate observed facts from interpretation in every brief
- Rank changes by impact and confidence with a recommended response
What waits for you
- Which competitors and pages are in scope
- Whether to change your own pricing, messaging, or roadmap in response

AtlasIllustrated exampleWatcher, Competitive Researcher
Checks only the public companies and pages you select. Records the URL, observation date, before-and-after evidence where available, change type, and confidence. Ignores cosmetic edits.
SageIllustrated examplePrism, Strategy Analyst
Reads verified changes against your audience and strategy, considers more than one explanation, and recommends watch, investigate, respond, or ignore with impact and confidence.
How it runs
A run, step by step.
- 01
Install the team
Add Watch Competitor Moves from the team library. Its two routines arrive paused.
- 02
List what to watch
Give Watcher the competitors and the public pages that matter, such as pricing, homepage, and changelog. It asks for a list if none is set.
- 03
Monday evidence
Mondays at 8:30, Watcher compares current pages with the last verified observation and logs material changes only.
- 04
Friday brief
Fridays at 16:00, Prism groups the week's changes, ranks them by impact and confidence, and says so plainly when there is too little evidence to conclude anything.

FAQ
Questions about Competitor watch
Does it log in to competitor sites or collect private data?
No. Watcher works only from public pages you approve. Its instructions forbid logging in, evading rate limits, bypassing access controls, collecting personal data, or claiming private knowledge. If a change could be a regional variant, an experiment, or a temporary promotion, it records that as an alternative explanation.
How does it decide a change is material?
Watcher compares current public evidence with the last verified observation and records the exact change, its type, and its confidence. Cosmetic edits are ignored. Prism then judges impact against your audience and strategy, and recommends watch, investigate, respond, or ignore with an owner and a condition for revisiting.
What happens in a week with nothing to report?
Prism says so. The Friday synthesis is instructed to state when fewer than two briefs exist for the week instead of stretching a summary from thin evidence. A quiet week produces a short report, not invented urgency.
Can it run while my laptop is closed?
On your Mac, Brainwrite must be running when each routine becomes due. With Brainwrite Cloud, routines run on your own always-on cloud computer, so the Monday check and the Friday brief happen whether or not your Mac is awake.
