Slack AI agents that catch you up and post updates you approve
Brainwrite connects Slack to your AI agents so they can search messages, read channel history and thread replies, find people and channels, and post or schedule messages. You authorize Slack in your browser, give each bot all Slack tools, an exact list, or none, and posts come to you as approval cards unless you've allowed them.
Brainwrite · SlackRead #product and #support from the last two days and give me a summary: decisions made, open questions, and anything someone asked me directly. Then draft a reply to each direct question for me to approve.
You connect Slack once. Your Chief of Staff puts a bot on it.

Set up
How to connect Slack.
- 01
Open Connected apps
In Brainwrite, choose Connected apps in the sidebar. The official app sets up the connection service for you; there's no key to paste.
- 02
Search for Slack
Find Slack and choose Connect. You can add more than one account later and label each, such as work or a client.
- 03
Sign in in your browser
Finish Slack's own sign-in in your normal browser. The access token stays with the connection service and never enters a bot's prompt.
- 04
Choose which bots get it
In each bot's settings, give it all tools, an exact list, or none. Imported bots start with none, so nothing reaches your account by surprise.

FAQ
Brainwrite and Slack: questions
How do I connect Slack to Brainwrite?
Open Connected apps, search for Slack, and select Connect. Label the connection with the workspace name, then approve access in the browser window that opens. Return to Brainwrite and ask a bot to read a channel. The OAuth token stays with Composio and never appears in prompts or the app's interface.
Can a bot post in Slack without asking?
Not by default. Posting a message comes to you as an approval card unless you've allowed it, and denying returns control to the agent. If a bot should only read, give it an exact list of Slack tools with search and history but no send or schedule tools.
Can I connect more than one Slack workspace?
Yes. Add each workspace as its own labelled account, up to five per app. When more than one could run a tool, the bot has to choose which workspace explicitly. Per-bot grants apply to Slack tools across every connected workspace in that installation.
