Telegram AI agents that work through your own Telegram bot

Brainwrite connects Telegram to your AI agents so they can read updates and chat history, send messages, photos, documents, and polls, forward or edit messages, and check chat members through a Telegram bot you own. Telegram connects through Composio with your bot's token, not your personal account, and messages come to you for approval unless you've allowed them.

Set up

How to connect Telegram.

  1. 01

    Open Connected apps

In Brainwrite, choose Connected apps in the sidebar. The official app sets up the connection service for you; there's no key to paste.

  2. 02

    Search for Telegram

Find Telegram and choose Connect. You can add more than one account later and label each, such as work or a client.

  3. 03

    Sign in in your browser

Finish Telegram's own sign-in in your normal browser. The access token stays with the connection service and never enters a bot's prompt.

  4. 04

    Choose which bots get it

In each bot's settings, give it all tools, an exact list, or none. Imported bots start with none, so nothing reaches your account by surprise.

The Apps catalog: Slack, GitHub, Gmail, Google Calendar, Sheets, Docs, Drive, Notion, Linear, Sentry, PostHog and Discord, each with Connect.

FAQ

Brainwrite and Telegram: questions

How do I connect Telegram to Brainwrite?

Create a bot with Telegram's BotFather and copy its token. In Brainwrite, open Connected apps, search for Telegram, and select Connect. Composio's Telegram toolkit uses that token rather than an OAuth sign-in, so the page that opens in your browser asks for it. The token stays with Composio.

Does it use my personal Telegram account?

No. Everything runs as the bot you created, so it can only see chats where the bot has been added or where people message it. Add the bot to a group and give it the admin rights it needs before asking a Brainwrite bot to post there.

How do I limit what a bot can do in Telegram?

In the bot's settings under Connected apps, choose all Telegram tools, an exact list, or none. A reporting bot might only get send message and send document, with delete message and set commands left out. Tools outside the grant are never offered to the model.
