Notion AI agents that read, write, and update your workspace

Brainwrite connects Notion to your AI agents so they can search pages and databases, read a page as Markdown, create pages and add content blocks, query databases with filters, add or update rows, and leave comments. You authorize Notion in your browser, choose which pages to share during sign-in, and pick which bots get which Notion tools.

Set up

How to connect Notion.

  1. 01

    Open Connected apps

In Brainwrite, choose Connected apps in the sidebar. The official app sets up the connection service for you; there's no key to paste.

  2. 02

    Search for Notion

Find Notion and choose Connect. You can add more than one account later and label each, such as work or a client.

  3. 03

    Sign in in your browser

Finish Notion's own sign-in in your normal browser. The access token stays with the connection service and never enters a bot's prompt.

  4. 04

    Choose which bots get it

In each bot's settings, give it all tools, an exact list, or none. Imported bots start with none, so nothing reaches your account by surprise.

The Apps catalog: Slack, GitHub, Gmail, Google Calendar, Sheets, Docs, Drive, Notion, Linear, Sentry, PostHog and Discord, each with Connect.

FAQ

Brainwrite and Notion: questions

How do I connect Notion to Brainwrite?

Open Connected apps, search for Notion, and select Connect. Label the workspace, then approve access in the browser window that opens, where Notion lets you choose which pages to share. Return to Brainwrite and ask a bot to search your workspace. The OAuth token stays with Composio, never in prompts.

Why can't the bot find a page?

Notion only exposes the pages you shared during authorization, plus their child pages. If a page is missing, share it with the connection from Notion's page menu, or reconnect and select it. The bot can't see anything Notion hasn't shared with it.

How do I limit what a bot can do in Notion?

In the bot's settings under Connected apps, choose all Notion tools, an exact list, or none. A research bot can get search and read tools only. A writer bot might add create page and append blocks, with archive, delete block, and replace page content left out.
