Todoist AI agents that plan your day

Brainwrite connects Todoist to your AI agents so they can add tasks in plain language, reschedule and close them, and read what you completed. A Chief of Staff bot can build a morning plan from today's due tasks, or turn a call's follow-ups into Todoist tasks with dates. Each bot gets only the Todoist tools you grant it.

Jobs

Jobs your team does with Todoist.

Morning plan

A routine reads today's and overdue tasks, groups them by project, and posts a short plan to your morning thread.

Follow-ups from a call

Paste your notes. A bot adds each follow-up to Todoist with a due date and the right project.

Weekly review

A bot lists what you completed last week and what slipped, so your review starts from the record rather than memory.

Set up

How to connect Todoist.

  1. 01

    Open Connected apps

In Brainwrite, choose Connected apps in the sidebar. The official app sets up the connection service for you; there's no key to paste.

  2. 02

    Search for Todoist

Find Todoist and choose Connect. You can add more than one account later and label each, such as work or a client.

  3. 03

    Sign in in your browser

Finish Todoist's own sign-in in your normal browser. The access token stays with the connection service and never enters a bot's prompt.

  4. 04

    Choose which bots get it

In each bot's settings, give it all tools, an exact list, or none. Imported bots start with none, so nothing reaches your account by surprise.

The Apps catalog: Slack, GitHub, Gmail, Google Calendar, Sheets, Docs, Drive, Notion, Linear, Sentry, PostHog and Discord, each with Connect.

FAQ

Brainwrite and Todoist: questions

How do I connect Todoist to Brainwrite?

Open Connected apps, search for Todoist, and choose Connect. Todoist's authorization opens in your browser; approve and return to the app. Ask a bot with Todoist tools what is due today to check the connection. The token is held by Composio, not in a prompt.

Can I give one bot read-only access to Todoist?

Yes. Open the bot's settings and, under Connected apps, set Todoist to an exact list such as get all tasks, filter tasks, and list completed tasks. That bot can plan and report but cannot add, close, or delete anything. Other bots can keep all tools or none.

Can a bot add tasks from my email or Slack?

Yes, if the same bot also has tools for those apps. It reads the message, then uses Todoist's quick add to create the task with a date. Grants are per app, so you can let a bot read Gmail and add Todoist tasks without letting it send email.
