Open Connected apps
In Brainwrite, choose Connected apps in the sidebar. The official app sets up the connection service for you; there's no key to paste.

Search for YouTube
Find YouTube and choose Connect. You can add more than one account later and label each, such as work or a client.

Sign in in your browser
Finish YouTube's own sign-in in your normal browser. The access token stays with the connection service and never enters a bot's prompt.

Choose which bots get it
In each bot's settings, give it all tools, an exact list, or none. Imported bots start with none, so nothing reaches your account by surprise.

Brainwrite and YouTube: questions
How do I connect YouTube to Brainwrite?
Open Connected apps, search for YouTube, and choose Connect. Google's sign-in opens in your browser; choose the account that owns the channel and approve. If you run several channels, connect each with its own label. The token stays with Composio, never in a prompt.
Can I stop a bot from deleting or uploading YouTube videos?
Yes. In the bot's settings under Connected apps, set YouTube to an exact list such as video details, captions, comment threads, and statistics. Leave out upload, delete, and update tools. Ungranted tools are never offered to that bot's model.
Can a bot research other channels on YouTube?
Yes. The search and video details tools work on public videos, so a bot can list what competitors published this month and read their view counts. Captions for videos you don't own may not be downloadable through the API, so the bot will say when it can't get them.
